An Introduction

Greetings!

I realize I may be speaking to no one at all, on the other hand I could be speaking to the whole world all at once. That's one thing that makes this form of communication so interesting. Another is instant publication. I just slap down whatever spills out of my head and BAM, suddenly everyone from Egypt to Californi-A can catch a glimpse. It's pretty amazing. But a lesson on blogging is not the reason I am writing this, it is in fact supposed to be an introduction of sorts. This post is supposed to prepare you for what lies ahead. It will be put in place to warn you of things to come. Scared? You shouldn't be.

So who am I, what is this, and what lies ahead? Those are the questions we will answer here. Should you find yourself returning to this place, you will have knowledge of it and thus be able to enjoy its contents with that tucked safely under your belt. My name is David Carter.* I'm the poor soul running this, and I will be the one posting word after word for your reading enjoyment. Or displeasure, whichever the case may be. I am not an established writer, nor do I have any experience professionally, nor did I do very well in grammer classes. I simply like to read and I LOVE to write. I decided to start this place so I could post some of the stories that beat around on the inside of my head until I let them run down my fingers and onto a page. Why? Because no one but me can read them if they are sitting on my hard drive minding their own business!

What can you expect to follow this post? I have no idea. I write by the seat of my pants people. I just sit down and start typing and see what happens. What I do know, however, is that from time to time I will post short works of fiction that I have constructed. These works will probably never see the light of day in any other fashion...but if one person out there stumbles upon it and gets an enjoyable read out of it, well then mission accomplished! These works were, at the time they were written, thought to be quite good by the author. But then again I might not be able to see the forest for the trees. If you are that one person that stumbles upon a story and enjoys it, please slap your name in a comment and let me know. If you stumble upon it and you think it sucks big time, well then let me know that too. Maybe I need someone to tell me to quit.

It goes without saying that I ask you not to steal any of this. To be frank you probably wouldn't want to, but it is quite lame to rip off someone's work and claim it as your own. So let's not go through all that because I do have proof of when it was written and all that jazz. And so in closing, I ask you to keep an open mind, to respond if you feel so compelled and to come back again if you see something you like.
